According to The Hollywood Reporter, Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Michelle Pfeiffer (What Lies Beneath, Dark Shadows) are set to join Oscar winners Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, Skyfall) in Paramount Pictures‘ untitled project from director Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler). Veteran star Ed Harris (Snowpiercer, A Beautiful Mind) and Gleeson’s brother Brian Gleeson (Snow White and the Huntsman, Assassin’s Creed) have also landed roles in the film.

This story is said to center on “a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.” Whether this is meant to indicate a Funny Games-style home invasion story or a Carnage-like dramedy of manners is unknown, though we can expect more details to emerge as casting continues.

With a spring shoot locked in and a release set for 2017, the untitled film has found a home at Paramount Pictures, who distributed Aronofsky’s last movie Noah to a robust $362 million worldwide. Aronofsky is set to write, direct and produce through his own Protozoa Pictures along with Scott Franklin and Ari Handel.

Gleeson is currently reprising his role of General Hux in Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII, and will also play National Lampoon co-founder Henry Beard in A Futile and Stupid Gesture, coming to Netflix. Pfieiffer will next be seen in director Barry Levinson’s Bernie Madoff TV movie The Wizard of Lies opposite Robert De Niro.
