Katy Perry’s next studio album still doesn’t have a release date, even after TMZ spotted her appearing to tease its debut earlier this month. But we seem to be creeping closer. On Friday, the singer debuted another single, titled “Bon Appetit.”

A few months after her last release, the politically aware “Chained to the Rhythm,” this new collaboration with Migos is actually just one long string of conspicuous innuendos veering, perhaps inevitably, into “Muffin Top” territory. After one seemingly honest step in an admittedly cynical direction, Perry is retreating to the happily hollow side of the charts she usually dominates. (Give it a listen below.)

“You could use some sugar / ‘Cause your levels ain’t right,” Perry croons, before reassuring us that it’s fine to “eat with your hands” because she’s “on the menu” ― wink.

“Fresh out the oven,” the singer continues, “Melt-in-your-mouth kind of lovin’.”

At least it comes with a meme. The cover art, depicting Perry’s disembodied head on a platter of assorted fruits, has been co-opted by fans on the internet, who’ve replaced her head with others, human and not.

For a likely “Bon Appetit” performance, tune into “Saturday Night Live,” where the singer will appear May 20.
