Απονεμήθηκαν τα διεθνή βραβεία Emmy
Με το βραβείο καλύτερης δραματικής σειράς βραβεύτηκε η δημοφιλής ισπανική σειρά «La Casa de Papel».
Μπορεί η ληστεία στο Νομισματοκοπείο της Μαδρίτης που σχεδίασε μέχρι τελευταίας λεπτομέρειας ο Καθηγητής να ολοκληρώθηκε μέσα σε δύο σεζόν, όμως οι διακρίσεις για το «La Casa de Papel» – και η λαϊκή απαίτηση φυσικά – έκαναν επιτακτική την επιστροφή του με μια τρίτη σεζόν, που πρόσφατα ξεκίνησε γυρίσματα.
Καλύτερη κωμική σειρά αναδείχτηκε το ισραηλινό «Nevsu».
Στους άλλους νικητές της βραδιάς, το βρετανικό «Man in an Orange Shirt» με τη Βανέσα Ρεντγκρέιβ κέρδισε το βραβείο καλύτερης ταινίας / μίνι σειράς, ενώ το «Goodbye Aleppo» εκείνο του καλύτερου ντοκιμαντέρ. Τα βραβεία ερμηνείας κέρδισαν ο Λαρς Μίκελσεν για το «Herrens Veje» και η Άννα Σουντ για το «Ein Schnupfen hatte auch gereicht».
Οι φετινοί 44 υποψήφιοι σε 11 κατηγορίες προέρχονταν από 20 χώρες: Αυστραλία, Βέλγιο, Βραζιλία, Καναδά, Χιλή, Δανία, Γερμανία, Ινδία, Ισραήλ, Ιαπωνία, Μεξικό, Ολλανδία, Πορτογαλία, Ισπανία, Νότια Αφρική, Νότια Κορέα, Ταϊλάνδη, Τουρκία, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και ΗΠΑ.
