How Benedict Cumberbatch became famous<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cumberbatch got his start in his native U.K. in the early \u201900s. He appeared in numerous theater productions, including the 2011 run of Frankenstein <\/em>at the Royal National Theatre. Cumberbatch also made a splash on TV with his breakout role in the celebrated series Sherlock<\/a><\/em> as the titular detective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the years since becoming a household name, Cumberbatch has taken on a variety of incredible roles in film. From fantastical IPs like The Hobbit<\/em> franchise and Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle<\/em> to biographical adaptations such as The Imitation Game<\/a> <\/em>and The Current War<\/em>, this is one actor who can really do it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He portrays Doctor Strange in the MCU<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Naturally, Cumberbatch\u2019s range makes him a perfect choice for the MCU<\/a>. And his propensity towards highly intelligent characters made him Disney\u2019s choice to portray Dr. Stephen Strange, a surgeon who becomes a superhero when he stumbles upon ancient mystic arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cumberbatch first appeared in the 2016 solo film Doctor Strange<\/em>, which details the character\u2019s origins. He made a brief cameo appearance in Thor Ragnarok<\/em> and then reprised his role in the team-up films Avengers: Infinity War<\/em> and Avengers: Endgame<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
