Lars Ulrich has revealed that\u00a0Metallica<\/a>\u00a0have been working on a new album over Zoom during the\u00a0coronavirus<\/a>-enforced lockdown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The drummer said back in April that there was \u201ca very good chance\u201d the band would utilise their extra downtime to produce a \u201cquarantine record\u201d<\/a>, which would follow on from 2016\u2019s \u2018Hardwired\u2026 To Self Destruct\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking to Swedish talk show host Fredrik Skavlan, Ulrich has now explained that Metallica had been \u201cexchanging some ideas\u201d over Zoom of late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSo far, at least the sonic side of it and the practical elements are in surprisingly good shape, actually,\u201d he said. \u201cSo now we\u2019ve just gotta figure out how much we can create without being in the same space.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
