Here\u2019s everything we know, and everything we suspect, about the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/everything-announced-at-wwdc-2020\">WWDC 2020<\/a>, the September Apple Event is online-only, and will start at 10am PT \/ 1pm EST \/ 6pm BST (4am AEDT on September 16 in Australia). Though Apple hasn\u2019t confirmed where to watch it yet, precedent suggests it will be livestreamed on Apple\u2019s website and YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After rumors of an event on September 8, Apple confirmed the date of September 15 with a cute augmented reality logo in the invite emailed to press. It\u2019s already led to some speculation (blue color in phones? Smooth higher refresh rate screens?), along with the event\u2019s tagline, Time Flies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">See you in 7 days! <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AppleEvent?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#AppleEvent<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zDXneII5di\">pic.twitter.com\/zDXneII5di<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Greg Joswiak (@gregjoz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gregjoz\/status\/1303357525668945921?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 8, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>What we have heard from Bloomberg\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/markgurman\/status\/1303359566042726400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1303359566042726400%7Ctwgr%5Eshare_3&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.techradar.com%2Fnews%2Fiphone-12-launch-date-is-official-and-its-a-lot-sooner-than-expected\">Mark Gurman<\/a>&nbsp;is that the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/new-iphone-12\">iPhone 12<\/a>&nbsp;might not be revealed until October, suggesting it won\u2019t even appear at the September 15 event.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Time Flies\u2019 may be the subtle hint that only the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/apple-watch-6\">Apple Watch 6<\/a>&nbsp;and other devices (perhaps the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/ipad-air-4\">iPad Air 4<\/a>, as has been rumored) will be announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPhone 12\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Apple typically reveals its range of iPhones in September of previous years, we expected the iPhone 12 to be on deck to get announced at the Time Flies Apple Event. But that might not be the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gurman elaborated on his claim in a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-09-08\/apple-to-hold-online-launch-event-on-sept-15?srnd=technology-vp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a>&nbsp;report, explaining that the phones won\u2019t even launch until October. The new phone software, however &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/ios-14-release-date-beta-features-and-supported-iphones\">iOS 14<\/a>&nbsp;&#8211; will come out in September that compatible iPhones (the iPhone 6S and newer) will be able to download.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The iPhone 12 will have a new design, updated cameras, and 5G support, per the Bloomberg report. Rumors and leaks over the past months have outlined what we\u2019re expecting in Apple\u2019s next flagship phones, including a metal case with squared-off edges we haven\u2019t seen since the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/reviews\/phones\/mobile-phones\/iphone-5s-1179315\/review\">iPhone 5S<\/a>, but was recently re-introduced in the latest&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/reviews\/ipad-pro-129-2018\/reviews\/ipad-pro-2020\">iPad Pro<\/a>&nbsp;models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re also expecting four different iPhone 12 models &#8211; two cheaper and fewer-featured devices akin to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/reviews\/iphone-11-review\">iPhone 11<\/a>\u00a0(coming in 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch screen sizes), and two pricier versions (in 6.-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes) that will likely be the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. We anticipate one or both of the more expensive models to be 5G-capable, but not the more affordable pair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Apple Watch 6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019d heard multiple rumors that the Apple Watch 6 would be revealed in early September, but on the date we expected to see it revealed, Apple announced the Time Flies event instead. Fair enough &#8211; and with a name like that, we can assume we\u2019ll see the smartwatch unveiled on September 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re not expecting the Apple Watch 6 to drastically differ from its predecessor, but rumors do suggest a few features that could come to the smartwatch. Most likely is an SpO2 sensor to track oxygen levels in blood, which several other wearables in 2020 have come with like the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/reviews\/samsung-galaxy-watch-3-review\/reviews\/samsung-galaxy-watch-3-review\">Samsung Galaxy Watch 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More outlandish predictions include a patent that suggests the wearable could get a Touch ID fingerprint scanner within the display. Another rumor hints that the watch could even come with a temperature sensor.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPad Air 4 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rumors suggested the iPad Air 4 would debut in September alongside the Apple Watch 6, and we\u2019re expecting it to be revealed at the Apple Event. Of all the devices that could launch, this is what we\u2019re most expecting after Apple\u2019s next smartwatch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we aren\u2019t expecting drastic improvements on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/reviews\/ipad-air-2019\">iPad Air 3<\/a>, the iPad Air 4 could ditch the Lightning port for USB-C and expand from a 10.5-inch screen size to an 11-inch display \u2013 both moves that mimic the latest iPad Pro. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other possible features include switching from Touch ID in the home button to Face ID for biometric authentication \u2013 and potentially doing away with the home button entirely, though leaks disagree on whether that will happen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on rumor, the iPad Air 4 could get four stereo speakers and pack the same A14-equivalent chipset as will appear in the iPhone 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Apple AirTags <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve been expecting the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/apple-airtags\">Apple AirTags<\/a>&nbsp;for some time, and since they weren\u2019t revealed at WWDC 2020, the September Apple Event is the next chance we\u2019ll see Apple\u2019s take on Tile-like tracker accessories. It might have been the plan all along, as a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/ios-14-may-get-its-own-apple-airtags-app-and-we-know-what-it-might-sound-like\">leak<\/a>&nbsp;suggested a dedicated AirTags app would be part of iOS 14, which may be released following the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve heard some rumors of how the devices will work \u2013 much like Tile, you\u2019ll allegedly be able to track an AirTag (and ergo, whatever it\u2019s clipped to, like keys or a bag) through an iOS app.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But rumors point to other tracking capabilities, like AR capabilities that let users point their cameras around to find digital balloons, which represent misplaced AirTags that are in range of your iPhone. But what if it\u2019s out of range?
