Slash<\/a>\u00a0has said he\u2019s optimistic that 2021 will see new releases from both\u00a0Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a>\u00a0and his band with Myles Kennedy.<\/p>\n

The guitarist said he\u2019s recently been working with bassist Duff McKagan on material expected to form the first new Guns N\u2019 Roses album since 2008\u2019s notoriously delayed \u2018Chinese Democracy\u2019.<\/p>\n

A follow-up to 2018\u2019s \u2018Living The Dream\u2019, which would be the guitarist\u2019s fifth solo album and fourth billed as \u2018Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators\u2019, could also be on the cards, with 20 songs reportedly lined up for the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did a week of initial pre-production [on the new Conspirators album] and there\u2019s 20 songs and we\u2019re gonna start back up next year,\u201d Slash told\u00a0Cleveland.com<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI spent a lot of time writing and demoing that stuff. And prior to that, Duff [McKagan] and I did some jamming and we also worked on the Guns record, and I\u2019ve had a couple of ancillary recordings and jams on top of that, so there\u2019s been a lot of stuff going on. I\u2019m really not good at slowing down and just sitting around.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI would like to think that we\u2019d have some new stuff out next year \u2014 from both camps, I guess. It\u2019s hard to say, but I would like to think we\u2019ll have stuff out next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Slash also spoke about Eddie Van Halen\u2019s passing as a \u201chuge blow,\u201d explaining that the two had been in contact towards the end of his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually met Eddie back in 1988,\u201d the Guns N\u2019 Roses man explained. \u201cHe came up to me at a Stevie Ray Vaughan concert and gave me a compliment on one of my guitar solos, which always sticks with me as one of the nicest, most selfless things any fellow guitar player ever did. We\u2019ve were sort of friends ever since then.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn top of the fact he\u2019s a monster musician, he was just a really good guy, a really sweet guy.\u201d<\/p>\n
