Anne Hathaway is starring in\u00a0Locked Down<\/em>, a new heist comedy from\u00a0Peaky<\/em>\u00a0Blinders<\/em><\/a>\u00a0creator Steven Knight set amid the\u00a0coronavirus<\/a>\u00a0pandemic \u2013 get a first look below.<\/p>\n

As first announced last September<\/a>, the film \u2013 previously titled\u00a0Lockdown\u00a0<\/em>\u2013 is described as \u201ca heist movie\/romantic comedy set against the backdrop of the pandemic lockdown\u201d.<\/p>\n

The film, which has an under $10 million budget, sees couple Linda (Hathaway) and Paxton (Ejiofor) decide to break up just before a nationwide lockdown is announced, meaning they\u2019re stuck at home together.<\/p>\n

The pair then hatch a drunken idea to stage a heist at London\u2019s Harrods in an attempt to bring them closer together once again.<\/p>\n

Filmed on location in the UK in September and October of 2020, the film is also set to star Ben Stiller, Stephen Merchant, Lucy Boynton Mindy Kaling, and others.<\/p>\n

Get a first look at\u00a0Locked Down<\/em>, which comes out in the US via\u00a0HBO Max<\/a>\u00a0on January 14, and will hit UK cinemas soon [via\u00a0Digital Spy<\/em><\/a>].<\/p>\n

Talking to\u00a0PEOPLE<\/em><\/a>\u00a0about making the new film, Hathaway said: \u201cThe sheer act of making it, of doing something so collaborative and audacious made us all very focused and open \u2014 and strangely free.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike the odds were so against us anyway that it made me want to lean into the exhilaration and take risks with my performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cIt was scary taking my mask off every day, and so I really appreciated how committed the crew was to keeping their masks on \u2014 even when we were shooting in hot rooms and they were carrying heavy camera and lighting equipment they were always, always masked.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir professionalism helped keep me safe, and I was and am incredibly grateful to them.\u201d<\/p>\n
