In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en-americas-support.nintendo.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/54026\/kw\/netflix%20service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">support document<\/a>\u00a0spotted by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/articles\/2021-01-06-netflix-to-shut-down-on-3ds-wii-u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Eurogamer<\/em><\/a>, Nintendo says the company will discontinue support for the two consoles on June 30th, 2021 (coincidently, that\u2019s the same day\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/minecraft-earth-shutdown-june-30-181516498.html\"><em>Minecraft Earth<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is set to shutdown). Netflix has already removed its app from the eShop, making it impossible to download unless it\u2019s already associated with your account.<\/p>\n<p>If you have the software installed on your console, you can continue to use it to stream content from Netflix until the end of June. Afterward, you\u2019ll need to look to other options if the Wii U or 3DS is your primary way of accessing the platform.<\/p>\n<p>Who is this shutdown likely to affect? Probably the same desperate souls\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2018\/01\/10\/zelda-overwatch-are-top-pornhub-searches-for-2017\/?ncid=rss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accessing Pornhub<\/a>\u00a0through their 3DS and Wii U. It\u2019s more people than you might think, but far from a significant number.
