Duran Duran<\/a>\u00a0celebrate their longevity on \u201cAnniversary,\u201d the latest single from their upcoming album\u00a0Future Past<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paired with a visualizer, the track opens with their signature New Wave sound \u2014 a barrage of synths and guitar \u2014 before Simon Le Bon enters: \u201cCome celebrate this union\/Come holy and unchained.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Anniversary\u2019 is a special song for us,\u201d John Taylor said in a statement. \u201cObviously we were conscious of our own impending 40th anniversary of making music together, but we wanted the song\u2019s meaning to be inclusive in the broadest possible way. After playing and working together for so long, we very much appreciate what \u2018being together\u2019 and \u2019staying together\u2019 can really mean, it\u2019s not something we would have thought song-worthy 40 years ago but we do today! It was also fun to build a track with hints of previous Duran hits, they\u2019re like Easter eggs, for the fans to find.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnniversary\u201d follows the singles \u201cInvisible\u201d and \u201cMore Joy<\/a>,\u201d which featured Japanese rock band CHAI and Blur\u2019s Graham Coxon.\u00a0Future Past<\/em>\u00a0arrives October 22nd via Tape Modern for EMG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
