A new hotel has opened in Paris.\u00a0It might be more appropriate to say it’s been launched, since the Off Paris Seine<\/a>\u00a0isn’t a structure built on dry land, but a floating barge anchored in the middle of Paris’ River Seine.<\/p>\n

That might sound anxiety-inducing \u2014 the exact opposite of what you want in your Paris vacation.<\/p>\n

But not to worry \u2014 the boat never undocks from its\u00a013th-arrondissement neighborhood, and it’s packed with\u00a0cocktails by renowned mixologist Nicolas Munoz, a plunge pool, and every modern amenity you can imagine.<\/p>\n

Take a look around this new kind of hotel, which opened to guests and visitors on June 23.<\/p>\n

The Off Paris Seine is a hotel like Paris has never seen before.<\/h3>\n

The poolside bar area is unique in that it is completely open-air, and has the feeling of a roof deck. It will be enclosed with glass in the winter.<\/h3>\n

There is a traditional reception area where guests can check in just like at a normal hotel.<\/h3>\n

This was possible because the barge was built specifically for the hotel, and not recommissioned.<\/h3>\n

The architecture is mainly metal and wood, with clean, modern lines throughout.<\/h3>\n

There are 54 regular rooms on the ship \u2014 one part stateroom, one part hotel room \u2014 as well as four suites. The beds were designed to look like they float.<\/h3>\n

The suites are quite luxurious. An installation of mirrors sits above the bed in the Silver Suite.<\/h3>\n

The suites rent for 256 euros ($286) a night. The Sunset Suite’s claim to uniqueness is its obvious orange hue on all applicable surfaces.<\/h3>\n
