Gerard Depardieu<\/a> and Santiago Segura<\/a> will star in \u201cYou Only Live Once,\u201d a comedy actioner produced by Spain\u2019s Bowfinger International Pictures and Buenos Aires-based MyS Producci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Argentine TV network Telefe, Cindy Teperman (\u201cAlmost Legends\u201d) and Benteveo Producciones Audiovisuals co-produce along with DK Group, DirecTv, Quexito Films and A Contracorriente Films. The movie is currently shooting in Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n

Disney\u2019s Buena Vista Intl. has taken all Latin American rights; Vicente Canales\u2019 Film Factory handles international sales.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce\u201d marks the feature debut of veteran stunt coordinator and second-unit director Federico Cueva whose works include \u201cAssassin\u2019s Creed,\u201d \u201cTorrente 5,\u201d and \u201cThe Secret in Their Eyes,\u201d among others.<\/p>\n

Cast also includes up-and-coming Argentina actor Peter Lanzani (\u201cThe Clan\u201d), Pablo Rago (\u201cEyes\u201d), Hugo Silva (\u201cI\u2019m So Excited\u201d) and Carlos Areces (\u201cMy Big Night\u201d).<\/p>\n

\u201cYou Only Live Once\u201d turns on Leo (Lanzani, who is the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time. After taping a murder, he assumes a false identity as an orthodox Hasidic Jew as a ruthless French killer, Duges (Depardieu) and his associates L\u00f3pez (Segura) and Harken (Silva) attempt to hunt Leo down.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a pretty-well unique movie for our countries; a high-stake action comedy combining huge stunts, laughs and romance,\u201d Cueva said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven the supporting roles are played by some of the biggest box-office draws in both Argentina and Spain,\u201d Milli Roque Pitt at MyS Producci\u00f3n said. Producer Mar\u00eda Luisa Guti\u00e9rrez, who partners Spanish thesp Segura at Bowfinger Int., said she she had lost track of the number of cars the production team had crashed over\u00a0 the last weeks.<\/p>\n

Producer Axel Kuschevatzky at Telefe commented: \u201c\u2019Once\u2019 is a classic buddy movie, a throwback to films like Walter Hill\u2019s \u201848 Hrs\u2019 but with a contemporary twist.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Icaa Spanish film board and Argentina\u2019s equivalent, the Incaa, Spanish pubcaster RTVE and Spanish pay TV company Movistar Plus are also backing \u201cOnce.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce\u201d is lensed by Guillermo Nieto (\u201cCarancho,\u201d \u201cThe Dog Pound\u201d). Ferran Piquer (\u201cTalk To Her,\u201d \u201cA Perfect Day\u201d) will serve as VFX supervisor. \u201cOnce\u201d will be released in 2017.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
