Netflix has announced a two-hour Christmas special will be available around the globe on Dec.\u00a023. What\u2019s more, Season 2 will pick up with 10 new episodes on May 5.<\/p>\n
As Netflix debuts are wont to do, the shows will be available to stream (and now possibly download) starting at 12:01 a.m. PT on the\u00a0given release date.<\/p>\n
The description provided for the Christmas Special leaves a lot to the imagination: \u201cThe journey continues as these eight singular hearts and minds weave in and out of each other\u2019s lives finding deeper connections, learning darker, more desperate secrets about one another and struggling to identify with more than just oneself.\u201d A similarly vague setup for Season 2 says that the whole cast will struggle to survive and understand one another \u201cagainst all odds.\u201d<\/p>\n
In his review of the first season, Variety TV critic Brian Lowry wrote, \u201cThe main problem, simply, is that the show doesn\u2019t make much sense.\u201d Still, the streaming service in banking on the series to hold onto its devoted audience for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n
\u201cSense8\u201d stars Tuppence Middleton, Brian J. Smith, Doona Bae, Aml Ameen, Max Riemelt, Tina Desai, Miguel \u00c1ngel Silvestre and Jamie Clayton as eight strangers who become mentally and emotionally linked.<\/p>\n
Lana Wachowski, Grant Hill and J. Michael Straczynski are the show\u2019s executive producers.<\/p>\n
