Tom Hiddleston has opened up about his whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift, insisting it was \u201creal\u201d.<\/p>\n
Hiddleston and Swift, or Hiddleswift as they collectively became known, enjoyed a three month romance last summer \u2013 but the union was questioned by some who deemed it \u201cfake\u201d.<\/p>\n
Dismissing such claims, Hiddleston told GQ: \u201cTaylor is an amazing woman. She\u2019s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time. Of course it was real.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Night Manager actor appeared to confirm his love for the US pop superstar when he was pictured wearing an \u2018I [heart] T.S\u2019 tank top while celebrating the Fourth of July at her beach house last year.<\/p>\n

\nHiddleston said he was \u201csurprised\u201d that his choice of clothing received so much attention and explained that he wore it as a joke after hurting his back.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe truth is it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, \u2018Does anyone have a T-shirt?\u2019 And one of her [Swift\u2019s] friends said, \u2018I\u2019ve got this\u2019 [a]nd we all laughed about it. It was a joke.\u201d<\/p>\n
The actor \u2013 who started dating Swift after she split from DJ Calvin Harris \u2013 said he trusts the world will stop \u2018embarrassing\u2019 him over the tank top now he has explained the \u201ccontext\u201d behind it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have to be so psychologically strong about not letting other people\u2019s interpretations about my life affect my life,\u201d he said. \u201cA relationship exists between two people. We will always know what it was.<\/p>\n
