The first trailer for <a href=\"http:\/\/ew.com\/movies\/thor-ragnarok-exclusive-first-look-photos\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Thor: Ragnarok<\/em><\/a> has landed, showing off first footage of Cate Blanchett\u2019s smoldering, devastatingly fierce <a href=\"http:\/\/ew.com\/movies\/2017\/03\/09\/thor-ragnarok-cate-blanchett-hela\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hela<\/a>, a.k.a the Goddess of Death.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the tones of Led Zeppelin, the stakes of the third Thor movie are dire: The trailer begins with the Asgardian Avenger (Chris Hemsworth) dangling in a\u00a0dark pit by chains after an explosive encounter with Hela. As EW <a href=\"http:\/\/ew.com\/movies\/2017\/03\/09\/thor-ragnarok-plot-reveal\/\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a>earlier, Thor has lost his signature weapon, Mjolnir, and now we know why: he didn\u2019t misplace the artifact, Hela smashed it into a million pieces.<\/p>\n<p>Now she hopes to do the same to Asgard. With Thor thrown through a hole in space to the barbaric\u00a0planet\u00a0Sakaar,\u00a0\u201cAsgard is dead,\u201d she proclaims as a wave of fire and ash sweeps over Thor\u2019s home world.
