The studio released the trailer following its debut at the \u201cStar Wars Celebration\u201d in Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>Several stars made surprise appearances at the event, including Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and new cast member, Kelly Marie Tran. \u201cThe Last Jedi,\u201d which opens on Dec. 15, follows up where 2015\u2019s cultural and box office titan \u201cStar Wars: The Force Awakens\u201d\u00a0left off.<\/p>\n<p>Disney-Marvel\u2019s \u201c<a id=\"auto-tag_thor-ragnarok\" href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/t\/thor-ragnarok\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag=\"thor-ragnarok\">Thor: Ragnarok<\/a>\u201d showed significant traction on social media last week with more than 65,300 new conversations, pulling its total to 316,000, thanks to a <a href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/2017\/film\/news\/thor-ragnarok-trailer-hulk-cate-blanchett-1202027310\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">teaser trailer and poster released on April 10.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cate Blanchett\u2019s supervillainess Hela made her deadly debut in the trailer along with Mark Ruffalo\u2019s Hulk. \u201cThor: Ragnarok\u201d is a sequel to 2011\u2019s \u201cThor\u201d and 2013\u2019s \u201cThor: The Dark World.\u201d The film \u2014 opening on Nov. 3 \u2014 is directed by Taika Waititi from a screenplay by Eric Pearson, and stars Chris Hemsworth.<\/p>\n<p>Disney-Marvel\u2019s \u201c<a id=\"auto-tag_guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-2\" href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/t\/guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag=\"guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-2\">Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2<\/a>\u201d generated 18,500 new conversations last week in the wake of airing a behind-the-scenes clip on April 14 on \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live.\u201d The sequel is launching on May 5 amid massive expectations.<\/p>\n<p>Paramount\u2019s \u201cTransformers: The Last Night\u201d produced nearly 17,000 new conversations after releasing a full trailer on April 12.
