Singer plays Lisa Simpson’s musician love interest and Milhouse’s nemesis in ‘La La Land’ parody<\/p>\n
Fresh off\u00a0Ed Sheeran<\/a>‘s\u00a0cameo on\u00a0Game of Thrones<\/i><\/a><\/i>, the singer will again appear on a Sunday night staple this fall when he lends his voice to a character on\u00a0The Simpsons<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n On the musical-themed episode “Haw-Haw Land,” a\u00a0La La Land<\/i>\u00a0parody that’s due to premiere during the show’s record 29th season, Sheeran will voice a musician named Brendan who becomes Lisa Simpson’s love interest and Milhouse’s nemesis,\u00a0<\/i>Entertainment Weekly<\/i>\u00a0reports<\/a>. Sheeran will also sing during the episode.<\/p>\n “This year continues to be equally surreal and amazing. Watch out for this one, me and Lisa have a whole thing going on,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n Sheeran is a longtime fan of the show; the singer even has a tattoo of Blinky, the series’ three-eyed fish. When producers found out about Sheeran’s\u00a0Simpsons<\/i>\u00a0love, they approached him about the role.<\/p>\n “We had a perfect part for him,” executive producer Al Jean told\u00a0EW<\/i>\u00a0of Sheeran. “So we said, ‘Oh, great, we’ll have him do this!’ And we recorded him over the phone from England.”<\/p>\n\n
