The hosts have gone haywire and are taking control. After the show\u2019s season one finale back in 2016 ,which left all of us utterly shocked (something\u00a0HBO<\/a>\u00a0is great at doing), we have been aching to get back to\u00a0Westworld<\/i>. Thanks to a\u00a0brief teaser<\/a>\u00a0aired during The Super Bowl this year, we got a little taste, but now we want more. Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Evan Rachel Wood posted Wednesday night on Instagram a quick glimpse at the official full-length trailer, which you can see at the bottom of this post, beneath the trailer itself.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been over a year and a half since we first journeyed to\u00a0Westworld<\/i>, so the time to return is finally almost here. The series\u2019 creators, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, explained that they wanted to take their time in writing a truly spectacular season full of twists, turns and overly complex plot lines. Filming for season two began last summer and wrapped only recently after a\u00a0momentary hiatus<\/a>\u00a0due to an unspecified actor\u2019s off-set injury.<\/p>\n

While season one was all titled \u201cThe Maze,\u201d season two is titled \u201cThe Door,\u201d according to Nolan. In an interview with\u00a0EW<\/a><\/i>, Nolan said, \u201cIf the first season was a journey inward, this is a journey outward. This is a search for what is else is beyond the park, and what else is in the park. Are there more parks? How big is the park? What\u2019s beyond the park?\u201d<\/p>\n

Season one received massive critical and awards praise, with\u00a022 Emmy nominations<\/a>, including nods for Best Drama Series, Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama Series for Evan Rachel Wood and Outstanding Leading Actor in a Drama Series for\u00a0Anthony Hopkins<\/a>. It was also nominated for\u00a0Best Drama Series<\/a>\u00a0at the\u00a0Golden Globes<\/a>\u00a0last year, which included nominations for Wood and Thandie Newton, as well. We think it is safe to say that\u00a0Westworld<\/i>\u00a0will definitely make an appearance at this year\u2019s Emmys and probably at the 2019\u00a0Golden Globes<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n

The official trailer below is all that we could\u2019ve hoped for. No words can really describe how exciting it is, so please enjoy and get ready for\u00a0Westworld<\/i>\u2019s season two premiere on April 22.<\/p>\n
