Top Gun 2 filming begins with Cruise back in the flight suit<\/p>\n
Tom Cruise<\/a>\u00a0has swerved back onto that Highway to the Danger Zone as the star Tweeted a picture from the first day of\u00a0Top Gun 2<\/strong>\u00a0filming. No other cast besides Cruise have been announced yet. See Cruise back in the flight suit after 32 years in the gallery below!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Joseph Kosinski, who previously directed Cruise in\u00a0Oblivion<\/strong>, will helm the sequel, with Peter Craig,\u00a0Justin Marks and\u00a0Eric Warren Singer penning the script.\u00a0Although the title\u00a0Top Gun: Maverick\u00a0<\/strong>floated around briefly, the film is currently without an official title.<\/p>\n A follow-up to Tony Scott\u2019s 1986 hit has been in the works for quite some time, with Tom Cruise interested in reprising his role as United States Naval Aviator Lieutenant Pete \u201cMaverick\u201d Mitchell. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously outlined that the film will deal with the rise of unmanned drones and pilots becoming a thing of the past.<\/p>\n The original\u00a0Top Gun<\/strong>\u00a0was directed by Tony Scott and also starred Kelly McGillis, Anthony Edwards and Tom Skerritt.
