{"id":94289,"date":"2019-03-14T21:35:21","date_gmt":"2019-03-14T19:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ngradio.gr\/?p=94289\/"},"modified":"2019-03-14T21:35:21","modified_gmt":"2019-03-14T19:35:21","slug":"youtube-music-introduces-first-artist-rise-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ngradio.gr\/en\/news-el\/music-en\/youtube-music-introduces-first-artist-rise-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"YouTube Music Introduces Its First \u2018Artist on the Rise\u2019 for 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YouTube Music wants some serious artist success stories.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last year, YouTube Music introduced its \u2018Artist on the Rise\u2019 series.\u00a0 The plan was to create an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/artists.youtube.com\/news\/youtube-music-introduces-artist-on-the-rise-content-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">exclusive behind the scenes<\/a>\u00a0look at the journey each \u2018YouTube artist\u2019 takes as they first get started.<\/p>\n<p>Given that this is Google\/Alphabet, we\u2019re surprised that the launch is still around.\u00a0 But instead of abandoning its latest pet project, YouTube Music is now growing Artists on the Rise and claiming early victories.<\/p>\n<div id=\"digit-1556205286\" class=\"digit-content-2\" data-cfpa=\"93214\"><\/div>\n<p>The series features interviews with artists and reactions to their first YouTube videos. It also showcases the artist\u2019s evolution on the platform and connection with fans via YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all about the \u2018journey,\u2019 a key buzzword for this initiative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The first artist featured for 2019 is Maggie Rogers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rogers shares her journey leading up to the debut of her album,\u00a0<em>Heard It In a Past Life<\/em>.\u00a0 She shares some of the first steps from her journey after deciding to be a musician, including pivotal moments like meeting Pharrell.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Artist on the Rise: Maggie Rogers\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3eGN0slsI0U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Other Artists on the Rise that will be featured in the 2019 series include Gunna, Dermot Kennedy, Half Alive, and Mau y Ricky.\u00a0 Incidentally, Gunna is also getting a serious push from Spotify\u00a0\u2014 with the warring platforms both benefitting the emerging rapper (well played, team Gunna).<\/p>\n<p>The YouTube series is being produced in partnership with Genius. Global Head of Music at YouTube Lyor Cohen says the series is the perfect platform for artists to connect with their fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no better platform than YouTube for artists to reach and connect directly with fans and through our new Artist on The Rise Content Series,\u201d Cohen said. \u201cWe\u2019re providing a way for emerging artists to share their unique journey with the fans that have been right there with them along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>YouTube Music is already claiming victories \u2014 though of course, nothing big happens in a vacuum.<\/h4>\n<p>Jessie Reyez was the first Artist on the Rise, and the showcase followed her biggest debut to date.\u00a0 Ella Mai hit #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July of 2018, and later won a Grammy Award for Best R&amp;B Song.\u00a0 Perhaps YouTube can claim\u00a0<em>some<\/em>\u00a0of the credit for these emerging stories<img id=\"hzDownscaled\" \/>, though artists benefitting from the pushes aren\u2019t arguing.<img id=\"hzDownscaled\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalmusicnews.com\/2019\/03\/13\/youtube-music-artist-rise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">digitalmusicnews.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>YouTube Music wants some serious artist success stories.
