Netflix has a large slate of movies coming to the streaming platform in June, including a surprise appearance by Godzilla Minus One to kick off the month.

A global film sensation from Japan, Godzilla Minus One won the Best Visual Effects Oscar at the 2024 Academy Awards in March. Fans have been in limbo ever since wondering when Godzilla Minus One would debut on streaming and Netflix added the title Saturday to kick off the month.

Other big titles coming to the streaming platform in June include the Netflix original movie Hit Man, starring Top Gun: Maverick breakout Glen Powell and Andor star Adria Arjona.

Warner Bros’ Geroge Miller prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga did $3.5M at 3,400 locations that began previews at 3PM.

Hit Man follows Gary Johnson (Powell), a mild-mannered college professor who moonlights as an undercover “hit man” for the New Orleans Police Department to bust criminals people seeking murderers for hire.

Powell is coming off the hit rom-com Anyone but You opposite Sydney Sweeney, which debuted at No. 1 on the Netflix Top 10 U.S. Movies Chart in April. Powell also recently produced the new Prime Video documentary The Blue Angels and will star alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos in the action-adventure Twisters in theaters in July.
