Instagram is taking a page out of Snapchat’s book. Launched on Halloween, Instagram’s new feature is a curation of videos and pictures that capture a certain event – very similar to Snapchat Stories, according to Recode.

Content is chosen by Instagram employees and put into a video-only feed. This allows users to watch these videos without the normal distractions on the screen such as borders, descriptions and likes, according to Recode.

“This is a new way to experience events and big moments, as they happen, through the eyes of the Instagram community,” an Instagram spokesperson said in a statement, according to PC Mag.

The new video channel on Instagram is also very similar to Twitter’s new feature, Moments, according to Wired. On all three sites, the best videos are chosen and broadcasted to any viewer that wants an immersive viewing experience.

Don’t expect to see these videos every day, however, as the channel is exclusively for major events, like Halloween, according to Recode.

Instagram will continue covering these events with its new video channel, however, though that might mean users will only get the video feed every once in a while. The new feature is expected to be just as popular as features offered by its social media counterparts, according to Wired.
