Is your favorite TV show canceled? A guide to what’s renewed and what’s in jeopardy.

todayMay 15, 2017

Background

It’s that time of year again: Next week kicks off the 2017 broadcast upfronts, in which NBC, Fox, ABC, CBS and CW officially announce their new fall schedules. An antiquated practice in the age of streaming and year-round premiere dates? Perhaps — but major advertising dollars are still up for grabs.

Which shows will stay and which ones are gone for good? Many announcements have already been made, but there are plenty of shows in limbo. We’ll keep a continuously updating list starting today and throughout next week. Here’s what we know so far from the major broadcast networks.  And even though cable and streaming systems operate on their own schedules, we included the current status of some fan-favorite shows at the bottom:

(Updated Friday with cancellation news for NBC’s “The Blacklist: Redemption”; and renewal news for Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” “The Bachelor,”  “Shark Tank,” “Speechless” and “Fresh Off the Boat.”)

(Updated Saturday with renewal news for NBC’s “Timeless,” which the network initially canceled last week; also, cancellation news for CBS’s “2 Broke Girls” and renewal news for NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU” and “Taken.”)

(Updated Sunday with renewal news for CBS’s “The Amazing Race” and “Elementary”; Fox’s “The Exorcist” and “New Girl,” renewed for a seventh and final season; and cancellation news for CBS’s “The Great Indoors.”)

(Updated Monday with cancellation news for CBS’s “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.”)
