NGradio So good... like you
Bjork
The Icelandic star has been nominated 15 times (including her 2019 nomination) but has yet to take home the trophy.
Nas
So many nominations and so many crushing losses. How did 2018’s Nasir not even get any recognition?
Tupac
Tupac had plenty of California Love, but zero Grammy love.
Depeche Mode
These boys have only racked up five nominations in their 40-plus year career, none of which resulted in a win.
Guns N’ Roses
Despite three nominations, Axl and the boys have never gotten one of those golden gramophones.
Journey
As infectious as “Don’t Stop Believin'” might be, Journey only has one nomination to their name and it was in 1997 for their single “When You Love a Woman”.
Kiss
Apparently rocking and rolling all night isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. “Psycho Circus” from 1998 remains the band’s only Grammy nomination.
Nicki Minaj
None of Nicki’s 10 nominations have resulted in a win. Her 2018 album Queen went totally ignored by the recording academy.
Notorious B.I.G
Biggie scored four nominations in his career, including three posthumous Grammy nods in 1998.
Snoop Dogg
Snoop has been nominated a total of 17 times since 1994’s “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang” and still nuthin’.
The Who
Despite having three albums in the Grammy Hall of Fame and a Lifetime Achievement award, The Who never took home a trophy for any of the competitive categories.
Katy Perry
Katy’s been up to bat over a dozen times but lost to powerhouses like Adele, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga.
Diana Ross
This is just unforgivable.
Sia
“Chandelier” on its own scored Sia four nominations in 2014 but lost each category. She has another shot in 2019 in the Best Remixed Recording category for “Audio (CID Remix Official Dance Remix)” .
Queen
Freddie & co. are another band with several songs in the Grammy Hall of Fame who never actually won any of their competitive nominations.
Martina McBride
She’s one of the reigning queens of the country music world and yet not a single Grammy to her name.
The Beach Boys
Weirder than these guys not having a Grammy is the fact that “Kokomo” got nominated in 1988 but the entire Pet Sounds album was totally snubbed.
Jimi Hendrix
Hendrix got some recognition in 1970 for his version of the “Star Spangled Banner” but lost to Henry Mancini.
Bob Marley
This isn’t all that shocking considering the recording academy didn’t even start giving out awards for reggae until four years after Marley’s death.
Janis Joplin
Joplin received her only competitive nomination in 1972 for “Me and Bobby McGee” but lost to Carole King’s “Tapestry”.
The Ramones
It’s definitely more punk rock that these guys are in the Grammy Hall of Fame and have a Lifetime Achievement award without any competitive nominations to their name.
Patsy Cline
This country music legend passed away a few years after the Grammys first launched and never got nominated. She has two songs in the Hall of Fame and a Lifetime Achievement award.
Run-D.M.C.
Their Raising Hell album was nominated for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1987 but they lost to Prince and The Revolution. They’ve since had “Walk this Way” entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame and earned a Lifetime Achievement award in 2016.
Oasis
It seemed like just about everyone was obsessed with (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995, just maybe not Grammy voters.
Blake Shelton
Blake has been up for awards in most of the major country categories but still hasn’t locked down a golden gramophone like some of his other colleagues at The Voice.
