Brace yourselves, ARMY! BTS has revealed more details about their previously teased upcoming new song on Sunday (Aug. 2)
Big Hit Entertainment shared that the new English single is titled “Dynamite.” As previously announced, the song will be arriving Aug. 21. The South Korean entertainment company made the title announce with an image on Twitter with the word “Dynamite” spelled out on a pink background.
It was only one week ago — on July 27 — that BTS revealed they have a new single coming for fans. “We are preparing an album for the second half of this year, but decided to first release a single because we wanted to reach our fans as soon as possible,” BTS said during a broadcast on Korean broadcasting app V Live. “Due to COVID-19, people around the world have been going through tough times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans.”
They also said during the broadcast that the song sounded “perfect” in English, and something that they have been working on during the global coronavirus pandemic. “When we first heard and recorded the song, we were energized and our spirits were lifted up,” they said at the time. “We can’t wait to share this song with you all and enjoy it together.”
The K-pop boy band has been staying busy during the health crisis. In addition to working on “Dynamite,” they released Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~ — their fourth Japanese LP — on July 14. They and Big Hit Entertainment have also donated $1 million to Crew Nation to help live show staff who have been impacted by the concert cancellations during the pandemic, and also another $1 million to Black Lives Matter.
