Film version of rocker’s one-man show headed to Netflix this December

Bruce Springsteen shares the stories and songs of his life in the moving new trailer for Springsteen on Broadway, which arrives on Netflix December 16th.

The trailer opens with Springsteen discussing the different ways his mother and father influenced his life and music amidst a performance of his Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. cut “Growin’ Up.” Elsewhere, Springsteen duets with his wife and longtime bandmate Patti Scialfa, reminisces about the various turns he’s taken throughout his career and points out the things that have hardly changed at all.

“Everybody has a love/hate relationship with their hometown,” Springsteen says at the end of the clip. “Take me, I’m Mr. Born to Run – I currently live 10 minutes from my hometown.”

Springsteen on Broadway captures the rocker’s critically lauded one-man show, which premieredat the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York City October 2016. The performance was initially set to run six weeks, but Springsteen ended up extending the residency several times. The show is now set to wrap December 15th, at which point Springsteen on Broadway will have run 236 shows, plus a performance at the Tony Awards, where Springsteen also received a special award.
