CBS Picks Up Supergirl to Series

There will officially be one more superhero show on the air next year: Industry insiders confirmed today that CBS has picked up itsSupergirl pilot to series. That’s not entirely unexpected — producer Greg Berlanti’s deal with the network called for the Eye to pay a hefty financial penalty to Warner Bros. if it didn’t pick up Supergirl. Still, it’s more job security for Melissa Benoist, who will play the titular Krytonian, as well as True Blood‘s Mehcad Brooks, who’s Jimmy Olsen. Will this show do for thigh-high boots what Arrow did for arrows? (Absolutely nothing.)
