Britney Spears will be the focus of an upcoming Lifetime movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the singer will get the biopic treatment in a two-hour film.

Entitled Britney, the filmmakers have cast Natasha Bassett (Hail, Caesar!) to portray the titular role. Touted as a “tumultuous true story,” it will chronicle the singer’s life, whether it be personal or professional.

Starting from her humble beginnings in Louisiana, the film will also trace her on-again-off-again relationship with Justin Timberlake and how her parents’ divorce affected her on through exploring her high-profile marriages to Jason Alexander in January of 2004 (it was annulled a couple days later) and Kevin Federline, whom she married later that year, shares two sons with, and divorced in 2007. Her much publicized breakdown later that year, which reportedly contributed to her losing custody of her sons, and her hard-won comeback will also be detailed.

Spears, who literally grew up in the public eye, seems to be undergoing a personal renaissance in recent years. She launched her Las Vegas residency in 2013, which has been extended through next year. That seeming sense of mature, longterm stability and renewal has continued through her more recent output. Her 2013 Britney Jean album traversed more personal material than previous work, including addressing another one of her high-profile breakups with her then fiancé and agent. Earlier this year, she reminded viewers of her expansive pop career when she performed a hit-filled medley to open the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

The singer will release Glory via Apple Music on Friday. The follow-up to Britney Jean, the 17-song set includes the confident-sounding singles “Private Show,” “Make Me,” “Clumsy” and “Do You Wanna Come Over?” She is slated to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and she’s donating her costume from the evening to raise money for Louisiana flood victims.

Lifetime’s Britney production begins in Vancouver next month. The TV movie is slated for a 2017 premiere.

Britney Spears is offering the chance to win a trip to the VMAs or her outfit from the show to raise money to benefit flood relief in Louisiana.
