For the first time in his career, Garth Brooks has made his music available to stream online. The country star signed a deal with Amazon Music, Amazon’s newly launched on-demand streaming service.

Available albums include The Ultimate Hits and Double Live, as well as his new single, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance.” According to Amazon, more of Brooks’ music, including his new album Gunslinger and his holiday album with wife Trisha Yearwood, will be added to the service later this year.

“It is a joy to work with a company that is all about the customer when it comes to service, and all about the music and its creators when it comes to the music,” stated Garth Brooks in a statement. “I applaud Amazon on their commitment to quality and thank them for this opportunity.”

He explained his decision to issue his music via Amazon rather than Spotify or Apple Music in an interview with Billboard. “We were talking to Spotify and Apple. Spotify didn’t have a place to sell [music] and iTunes had their own rules so, even though we can stand in the same room and be friends, there is some kind of rub there. So with them, it’s always a little tough. I think it comes down to egos on both sides.”

“This is a landmark moment for both Amazon Music and Garth Brooks,” stated Steve Boom, VP of Amazon Music. “Garth Brooks is a legendary country music superstar who continues to shatter industry records and amaze fans three decades into his career. We are honored to make his music available for streaming for the first time ever, exclusively on Amazon Music.”

Amazon launched Amazon Music Unlimited earlier this month as the tech company’s foray into premium subscription-based streaming industry.
