Where’s Taylor Swift During The 2016 Billboard Music Awards? The Singer Has A Good Reason To Miss It

While the 2016 Billboard Music Awards are packed with A-list performances (Bieber! Britney! Adele!), one performance we won’t be seeing is a number from our girl Taylor Swift. Still, is there a possibility that Swift will attend the BBMAs? She is up for eight awards — including Top Artist and Top Touring Artist — after all. And God knows that the world desperately needs some more T. Swift in-seat dance move GIFs (there can never be too many).Update: Taylor Swift did not attending the 2016 BBMAs.

Earlier: Sadly for me and other Swifties, there was no sign of the singer on the E! red carpet. And the chances that Swift will be there to inevitably collect her winnings have been made a little slimmer with boyfriend Calvin Harris’ car accident over the weekend. Though the Scottish DJ will ultimately be OK, he sustained injuries from the accident and was reportedly told to rest by doctors. An update from his Facebook page declared:

“Adam’s transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport. As a result he will be unable to perform at Omnia tonight. He has been examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days.”

 

As a result, Harris (real name: Adam Wiles) was forced to cancel his performance at the Omnia on Saturday night. And though Swift was not with her boyfriend at the time of the accident, it would make sense to forgo an appearance at the award show to be with Harris, particularly after such a scary incident.

That all being said, there’s a chance that T. Swift could come and collect in person tonight — and I, for one (along with the rest of the Internet, for sure), will most definitely be on the lookout.
