Ενώ περιμέναμε το Surface Pro 8, τελικά η Microsoft ανακοίνωσε σήμερα μία “αναβαθμισμένη” έκδοση του περσινού μοντέλου, με την ονομασία Surface Pro 7+. Η νέα έκδοση θα είναι διαθέσιμη μόνο για τους εταιρικούς πελάτες της εταιρείας, καθώς και για πελάτες του εκπαιδευτικού κλάδου.
Οι βασικές διαφορές του Surface Pro 7+ και του περσινού μοντέλου είναι τέσσερις. Αρχικά, το νέο μοντέλο προσφέρει νέους επεξεργαστές Intel ενδέκατης γενιάς, από i3-1115G4 έως και i7-1165G7, ενώ ταυτόχρονα βλέπουμε και μεγαλύτερη μπαταρία, από 46,5Wh σε 50,4Wh. Επιπλέον, προσφέρει αποσπώμενο SSD δίσκο, καθώς και επιλογή για LTE σύνδεση, όχι 5G, μέσω του Snapdragon X20 LTE modem.
Στα υπόλοιπα χαρακτηριστικά, το Surface Pro 7+ προσφέρει την ίδια PixelSense οθόνη των 12,3 ιντσών, με ανάλυση 2736x1824p. Στη συνδεσιμότητα, βλέπουμε μία θύρα USB-C, μία θύρα USB-A, θύρα ακουστικών 3,5 χιλιοστών και θύρα Surface Connect. Όλα τα μοντέλα με Wi-Fi θα έχουν υποδοχή κάρτας microSDXC, ενώ τα μοντέλα με LTE θα αντικαθιστούν τη microSD με υποδοχή για nano SIM.
Η ιστοσελίδα The Verge ρώτησε γιατί δε βλέπουμε αλλαγές στο design, με τη Microsoft να απαντά ότι οι εταιρικοί πελάτες θέλουν να έχουν σίγουρες τις θέσεις των θυρών, αλλά και το μέγεθος των Surface Pro, κάτι που αλλάζει στην περίπτωση του Surface Pro X. Από την άλλη, η εταιρεία σημειώνει ότι έγιναν πολλές αλλαγές στο εσωτερικό του Surface Pro 7+, ενώ ήταν σημαντικό να καταλάβουν οι καταναλωτές ότι πρόκειται για προέκταση της σειράς Surface Pro 7, όχι για νέα σειρά.
