Ήθελα να ‘χω δυο ζωές μπροστά μου για να ζήσω τη μια να μένω στο κλαδί την άλλη να γυρίζω τη μια να μένω φρόνιμος, να βλέπω φως και μέρα την άλλη να μπερδεύομαι στης νύχτας τη σκακιέρα.
Να λειτουργώ με σύνεση, να χτίζω σκαλοπάτια να τ’ ανεβαίνω για να βγω στης γνώσης τα παλάτια μα όταν νυχτώνει να γυρνώ στη μοίρα μου την άλλη να παίρνω τον κατήφορο κι ας πάω όπου με βγάλει.
Αφού με τούτα δεν μπορώ, με τα άλλα δε βαστιέμαι τ’ αφήνω να κυλήσουνε κι άλλο δεν τυραννιέμαι παίρνω τη μία μου ζωή και την πετώ στην άλλη κι αφήνω σώμα και ψυχή σ’ ένα κρυφό περιγιάλι.
